Well not too long ago I found this little wreath tutorial from That's My Letter and pinned it to my DIY board on Pinterest.
I figured this Pinterest Challenge put on by Bower Power, Young House Love, Ana White, and House of Earnest could give me the incentive to go ahead & make this project a reality for my home. Exciting right? Right!
Jaimie from That's My Letter made this look so do-able. I got a couple of old piano books from the Treasure Mart (one was about 110 pages for $0.50 & the other was about 50 pages for $0.25, score!), and dug out another of our frames from our wedding table numbers to use as the back. The only other things I needed were some scissors & some hot glue... make that a LOT of hot glue.
It took me a while to figure out how to roll the paper. I took each sheet of paper & folded it in half to mark where I needed to cut it. Once my sheets were cut in half, I would roll them from corner to corner such that one end was skinny & one end was fat. I used hot glue both on the inside corner that got folded in, and again on the outside corner at the end of the roll.
Make a lot of these rolls.... like 2x as many as you think you're going to need haha! Just keep going! Once you have a ton of 'em, you're ready to add them to your frame! I started by attaching rolls to the corners, and middles of my frame, like this:
Then add more rolls between those to create the first row. You'll then want to add a second row, and a third. I did three rows, then added a couple of extras in where it looked like it needed it.
This wreath is HUGE! I love it, it's so pretty! I'm very happy with how it turned out & I'm glad I was able to use real piano sheet music from the early 20th century to create it.
I will be listing my wreath in the Pinterest Challenge tomorrow, do you have anything to add? Any tips for creating one of these beautiful wreaths?
