Treasure Hunting Thursdays - School Desks

Stopping by the Treasure Mart on a lunch-break run the other day, a little beauty caught my eye.  I stopped to look it over, loving it more the more I looked at it.  I held my breath while I found the price tag... it was... $25!  And then I became obsessed.  Obsessed with this little guy, the cutest vintage school desk!

You see, how cute is he!?  Totally worth $25 I think.  I love the cast iron!  Well, last Wednesday was my birthday, so I went home that night to request said desk for my birthday from my husband.  He said he wanted to see a picture of it first.  So I went back the next day, and it was still there.  I took the above picture as well as the one below.

When I got back to the office, I eagerly emailed him the pictures, hoping he'd say yes, and guess what, he did!  So the next day I went back for the desk.

Now, I have plans for the desk, but as I haven't put them in motion yet.  What do you think I should do with it?  Here are some images I found to help inspire you to find your own unique vintage school desk.

Crafty, Scrappy, Happy

Jaime Lyn at Crafty, Scrappy, Happy has refinished one to use as a nightstand as well!  Isn't it pretty?

So what do you think I should do with mine?  Should I paint it white?  Chalkboard it?  Re-stain it?  I do need to do something because the finish is worn & stained, & I think I know what my plan is, but what do you think it should be?
