Kate at Centsational Girl is having a link up today for favorite kitchen gadgets & I thought I'd throw my favorite into the proverbial pot. My favorite kitchen gadget is a solid surface cutting board I got from an art fair a few years ago. It appears that they are made of Corian material.
Actually, I have two. I got one about 3 years ago at an art fair in Milford, MI. Then 2 years ago I got another one at the art fair in Plymouth, MI. I loved my first one so much I had to get another one. I recommend these cutting boards to everyone! They are great because they don't get cut into like plastic or wooden ones can, and they are completely non-porous, so you never have to wonder what kind of bacteria is growing in them. Plus, they are machine washable, stain resistant, & heat resistant.
I looked on Etsy to try to see if the guy who makes these sells there, and I didn't find him. There are some other Corian boards there, but none of them are this shape with the hole there on the side which makes it really easy to handle. I did a Google search too & couldn't find a web site at all. I do see him at all kinds of art fairs around Michigan though. If I go to one, I can usually count on him being there.
If you ever see a Corian board at an art fair, seriously BUY IT! They are amazing & will last a lifetime. They would make great gifts too! Or go up to the Etsy link & buy one from there. I will never use another cutting board after discovering these.
I will be linking this post up to Centsational Girl's Kitchen Gadgets link party.
