For your first wedding anniversary, the traditional gift is paper. The modern gift is clocks, apparently. I totally didn't know this until I checked about.com. I knew the paper one, but not the clocks. It looks like all of the modern gifts are way more expensive than the traditional gifts. Haha! Uh... the modern gift for the 4th anniversary is "appliances"!? Whaaa....?

ReplyDeleteFor our first in December, my husband had to work. To celebrate, we made each other handmade cards, had our favorite dinner at home with candles while listening to country music songs that we played at our wedding. We
drank sparkling fruit juice and shared a small chocolate mousse cake from Whole Foods. Afterwards, we looked at scrapbook albums from our first year and read parts of our love journal I'd kept since the first date. Then we prayed together thanking God for our marriage and asking His blessing on our next year. It was really simple and just right for us.
