Scrap Fabric Window Treatment

Our bedroom windows, and actually all of the windows in our house, have never had any curtains or window treatments other than our regular ol' plastic white blinds.  I decided, as I update our master bedroom, that I wanted to change that, slowly but surely, starting in our bedroom.  I decided on a scrap fabric window treatment for our room.

This was the easiest thing to put together.  I used some piping that is made for putting piping around things like upholstery as my base.  I used some blue fabrics so that it would go with the blue-grey colors we have going on in our room.

I cut my fabrics into strips that are about one inch wide, and tied them one by one to the string of piping.  Then I spread the string of fabric across the window, and put a nail through the piping into the wall at each corner to attach it!  Instant pretty!

I love it!  I like that it adds a little more color to the room & it was simple & inexpensive to do.  The fabrics are pretty, and I didn't need a sewing machine :-)  Which is great since I don't have one.

Next on the list of window treatments to do is fixing the big black out curtins we have in the large front window in our living room.  One of the bottom hems is falling out, and they are just plain brown kinda ugly.  Gotta fix that one quick!!  Hope you are having a lovely day friends!!
