I've seen tons of takes on bunting over the past couple years. I haven't had any bunting in our home though, I just never made any because I didn't have a good cutter to make straight lines needed for a paper one, or a sewing machine to make a good cloth one. So, the other day when I saw some crepe paper streamers at the store in the party section, I had an idea. I decided to use the streamers to make a couple of banners for my office.
Here's my supplies. Just some crepe paper streamers in purple, blue & pink. I also used some twine that I had on hand from the dollar store. I cut about 12 pieces of each color to make two strings of bunting. I originally thought that I'd cut out triangle shapes, but they would have been way too small, so strips of streamers was going to work great for me. I also cut my twine before adding the streamers. I measured the twine up against my box shelves so that they were already cut when I started applying the streamers.
I taped each strip to my twine by folding the top edge around the twine & securing it with a little piece of tape. Once I got to the end of the string, I taped it up on either side of my boxed shelves for display.
I love the pretty girly colors added to my office space! This project was so simple & inexpensive but made a great impact to my space.
Have you made any paper buntings before? What materials have you used? Anything unusual?
I will be linking this post up to these awesome sites.
